Lola’s Cupcakes, sat snugly in a little corner near Waitrose, is, admittedly, a sign of the much needed sugar the Wharf requires – more in the idea of energy rather than making up for the general bitterness. It also reminds me of Cupcake Central in Melbourne so maybe there is a trend with strategically placing these things.

What attracted me to Lola’s Cupcakes was the toxic green colour of a little cupcake, a small reindeer gleefully adorned on it. I’m not even joking about this, I do actually want sometimes to eat incredibly vividly coloured food. Taste wise, however, it was just a regular cupcake with frosting; maybe the reindeer tasted a bit funny. In all honesty, given that a cupcake at Lola’s is around 2.75£ and that a cupcake at Waitrose is 1£, with more or less the same taste, you’re better off buying from Waitrose (Which is just on the other side).
Admittedly, there is more variety at Lola’s. I think. Perhaps I don’t spend sufficient time in the Waitrose cupcake area.
