Whenever I passed through Soho, a small sign saying “South African” cuisine would always catch my eye, perhaps due to its rarity within the London food scene. That, or because the area generally assaults me with signs saying “tantric massages” and “peep show”, or have someone whisper to me whether I want hashish, so the change was both unusual and welcoming.

Brownie points for the interior design – catchy, interesting and funny. The leather seats blends in well with the general sense of Indiana Jones in rabbit form adventure that the restaurant offers.
The menu is quite straightforward, you get bread (the bunnies) filled with an option of meat (the sauces are apparently south african inspired) and a topping. Go for something crazy like crushed nachos. The concept is interesting, but then the practicalities of life rain on its parade: the bread is difficult to cut through, taking serious effort to get to the insides. It was also an adventure finding the meat, and the sauce was rather overpowering. Apparently you can also eat it by hand – but no.
