Often when I think of seafood there’s this song from the Little Mermaid that pops into mind: “under the sea, under the sea, life is much better, down where it’s wetter!”. I don’t always agree with that statement, but the gorgeous website that Wright Brothers had got me hook, line, and sinker.

Being offered bread and butter is something so simple yet offers instant brownie points (unless you give me stale bread or nasty butter), the staff was not just friendly but very keen to suggest which dishes are great, how they taste like, with a joviality that was just a bit too much.
The only clear downsize of Wright Brothers (South Kensington) was the ridiculously long time we had to wait for our Fruits de Mer platter as if they were making one of the water dive down a well to collect the critters. They eventually arrive, in all their splendour (the medium platter was quite big), and we start munching into them. Happy to report none of them were moving. Clearly fresh, and in abundance, served with mayo and a shallot marinade. I want to say marinade, and that sounds stupid in my head, so I probably didn’t quite get what they did with the shallots.
