Every sort of weather seems to be tea weather: if it’s sunny and nice, wouldn’t a nice cup of tea (or even ice tea) be great at a terrace? Rainy? Hot cup of tea in your hands, watching all those miserable people outside being poured on. Snow? Don’t even get me started. Naturally, then, cities have an abundance of such retreats that seem to be busy year round.

The vibe would be best described by the word “relaxed” (should this have been another decade, maybe “hippie” would come to mind as well). Which should not be surprising considering Leyas has taken root in Camden. The space is airy and very well lighted especially on a sunny day, and, as usual, there is an extensive selection of sandwiches, cakes and toasties to choose from. The cheese and ham croissant was delicious – much more so than I expected. The texture was very buttery, crunchy from the toasting yet still soft (clearly fresh dough) on the inside.
