Perhaps it was my recent return from Egypt, or the lack of proper nutrition that slowly drew me back to an ever favorite of mine: hummus – high in dietary fiber, protein and fun.

After the “weekend of hedonism” in Berlin, as my ex puts it, it shouldn’t have been a surprise that solid food and my stomach were not the best of friends. Lacking a house also meant a big push to eat out more; it was quite the mental exercise to come up with a restaurant that is inexpensive, serves healthy food that is also high in nutriments and calories – what I needed to get my body reacquainted with it’s primary function of digestion.
Hummus Bros fills all of those criteria: several options give you sufficient freedom of choice to have a mix of healthy foods that are also refreshing and tasty. It’s also a great place for sharing food – whether with a steamy date or just a gossip among friends. The tahini paste was ever so slightly too bitter (which I always attribute to a poor quality rather than personal taste).
