As life goes, I am quite good at bitching and ranting. So I unleash myself in regards to my new home.

First of all, public transport is awful. Complicated, closes early, trains instead of the tube system. I mean, it’s workable, but nowhere near my precious London. Another observation is that generally everyone has a car here. So maybe that’s why the other transportation gets neglected. Still, not an excuse.

Very small Chinatown. Was disappointed. Then again, there’s asians everywhere so I can’t really complain. I also understand that suburbs are more “Chinatown” than the Chinatown in the city. Oh my classmates are so much more interesting then the one’s in England (law-classmates). Sorry.

But then you do get awesome stuff like this one! Also, did I mention there’s asians everywhere? Joke aside, the streets are very wide and there’s a lot of open space. For those that like that sort of thing. The dorms are quite expensive, much more than the one I had in London Bridge. I heard that otherwise rent isn’t all that high.

  1. It’s true that Australia’s public transport system sucks in comparison to places like London and Tokyo. It’s also true that the suburbs are a much more realistic china town than ‘China Town’ (the same is true for Brisbane and Sydney).

    • Yeah, Springvale is actually very asian-y and nice. Much more authentic than London’s Chinatown too. Not sure about Sydney/Brisbane (haven’t been there yet), but will make sure I explore this 🙂
